CASE STUDY

Nexus was engaged to design a comprehensive training program for employees before they began their assignments with a multi-national company in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The goal was to ensure that employees were well-prepared, culturally aware, and equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in their new roles and environments.

PRE-MOBILISATION
DEVELOPMENT

OPERATIONAL TRANSITION SUPPORT

This phase focused on ensuring a smooth transition by providing on-ground support, facilitating logistical requirements, and reinforcing the skills and knowledge acquired during pre-mobilisation training.

FORWARDS OPERATIONS
TRAINING MENTORING AND ADVISING

The final phase of the training program focused on preparing employees for forward operations in the UAE and also the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). This phase included specialised training and continuous mentoring and advising to ensure employees were fully prepared for their assignments in KSA and had an appropriate duty of care.

Upon arrival in the UAE, the operational transition support program commenced with a comprehensive welcome and orientation session. Employees were greeted at the airport and provided transportation to their accommodations, ensuring a smooth and stress-free arrival. The orientation covered essential aspects such as an introduction to the local team, and office environment, and an overview of the UAE’s legal and regulatory framework. Meet-and-greet events with team members and key stakeholders facilitated immediate social integration and helped employees familiarise themselves with their new workplace.

Simultaneously, the program emphasised cultural immersion and continuous learning. Employees participated in scheduled visits to cultural sites and local landmarks, gaining firsthand experience of Emirati traditions and heritage. Interactive workshops focused on Emirati customs, social practices, and business etiquette, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of the local culture. Language classes provided practical daily communication skills in Arabic, enabling employees to engage more effectively in their new environment. Logistical support was provided by detailed briefings on public transport options/routes an guidance through the process of obtaining local IDs and licenses.
